This 1962 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster was built in March 1962 with Opalescent Dark Green paintwork, a French Grey top, and a Suede Green interior, and it was initially delivered in New York. At some point under previous ownership it underwent a color change and is now Pale Primrose with a black top and interior, and it is powered by a replacement 3.8-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is equipped with a black soft top, 15″ wire-spoke steel wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, triple windshield wipers, and a luggage rack. The car was refurbished under prior ownership and was listed on BaT in September 2024, after which it was acquired by the selling dealer. This XKE Series I roadster is now offered in with a California title listing the car as a 1963 model.

The Series I E-Types were equipped with covered headlights and taillights mounted above the chrome rear bumpers. XKEData lists that the car was built in March 1962 with Opalescent Dark Green paintwork, a French Grey top, and a Suede Green interior, and it was initially delivered in New York. It has been repainted Pale Primrose and was refurbished some time ago. Additional equipment includes a black soft top, a luggage rack, a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers, a left-side mirror, triple windshield wipers, and dual exhaust outlets. A touched-up paint chip is visible on the front valance.

The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 185R15 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.

The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black leather along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Interior appointments include black vinyl dash trim, a sliding rearview mirror.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, and the five-digit odometer shows 83k miles. The selling dealer notes the center stack gauges, switches, and radio do not work.

The replacement 3.8-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Moss four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The car is titled using engine number R47489 shown on the chassis plate, and a reproduction plate fitted below can be seen in the gallery.
