This Tangerine 1968 Porsche 912 coupe was cosmetically restored in 2017 and is powered by a 1.6-liter flat-four equipped with Weber carburetors and paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. The car is equipped with 15″ perforated steel wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, bumper guards, and bucket seats with black leatherette upholstery. It has reportedly been in the Cincinnati, Ohio, area for more than 15 years, and the current owner purchased it in 2012 and has since added approximately 700 miles. This SWB 912 coupe is now offered on dealer consignment with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, the owner’s manual, a tool roll, and an Ohio title.

The Karmann-built body was stripped to bare metal and repainted in its factory shade of Tangerine (6809) by MetalKraft Coachwerkes of Cincinnati, Ohio, as part of the 2017 refurbishment. Exterior details include sugar-scoop headlight surrounds, bumper guards, a retractable antenna, and a single exhaust outlet. Light scratches are noted on the window trim.

The 15″ perforated steel wheels are mounted with 165-series Michelin XZX tires. The car features independent front and rear suspension along with disc brakes at all four corners, and it was originally specified with Koni dampers.

The 2+2 cabin was refurbished in 2017 with replacement black leatherette upholstery, carpeting, headliner, dashboard components, steering wheel, and door panels. Appointments include front-seat headrests, lap and shoulder belts, rear vent windows, and an AM/FM radio, though the latter is inoperative.

The four-spoke steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation including a 7k-rpm tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, auxiliary gauges, and an analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows 48k miles, though it is believed to be inaccurate, and approximately 700 miles were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 1.6-liter flat-four was factory rated at 90 horsepower and 90 lb-ft of torque and is equipped with Weber carburetors. The engine was removed from the car in connection with the 2017 refurbishment, although the extent of the engine work performed at that time is not specified. The selling dealer believes work was performed on the engine under previous ownership, though no records for any work exist.

Engine number ☆1284049☆ matches the sequence on the CoA, as does the transaxle stamp 1283508 shown in the gallery.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle.
