1966 Honda CM91 Rally at No Reserve

This 1966 Honda CM91 Rally is fitted with a Honda Custom Group kit of the type that was dealer-installed and converted the stock step-through scooter into a sport-styled motorcycle by replacing the steering neck, handlebar and clamp, seat, fuel tank, front fender, side covers, headlight nacelle, and speedometer. The bike was acquired by the current owner circa 2016, reportedly from a museum, and thereafter put on static display. Finished in white with matching bodywork and red graphics, it is powered by an 89cc OHC four-stroke single mated to a three-speed transmission and an automatic clutch. Equipment includes a kick starter, a chrome low-mounted exhaust system, a black vinyl solo seat, an enclosed drive chain, a center stand, and 17″ wire-spoke wheels. This CM91 Rally is now offered at no reserve on dealer consignment in New York on a bill of sale.

The bike was refinished in white with red graphics under prior ownership and features the Rally kit’s streamlined fuel tank, front fender, and black vinyl-upholstered sport seat as well as its white-finished side panels. Additional equipment includes a headlight, a taillight, and a center stand.

Chrome 17″ rims laced to drum-brake hubs are mounted with Michelin Gazelle tires. Suspension is provided by a pressed-steel leading-link fork as well as a pair of chrome and body-color shrouded shocks mounted to the swingarm.

The Rally kit headlight nacelle and inset 60-mph speedometer were dealer-installed during the conversion. The five-digit odometer shows one mile. A keyed ignition is located in the right-side panel.

The 89cc OHC horizontal single was rated at 7.5 horsepower when new and is equipped with a polished intake, a Keihin carburetor, and a chrome low-mounted exhaust system. According to the selling dealer, the engine and transmission were overhauled under prior ownership. The selling dealer states the fuel tank needs to be lined and the bike has not been started or run under current ownership.

Power is sent to the rear wheel through an automatic clutch, a four-speed transmission with a heel/toe shifter, and an enclosed drive chain.

The frame VIN stamp sequence CM91A104879 is shown above.

The bike does not have a title or registration. It is being sold on a bill of sale only.
