1979 International Harvester Scout II Traveler 345 4×4 Project at No Reserve

This 1979 International Harvester Scout II Traveler is a non-running project that was purchased by the seller in 2023. It is equipped with a 345ci V8, a three-speed automatic transmission, and a transfer case as well as a removable Traveltop hardtop, an uninstalled liftgate, a 4″ suspension lift, manually locking front hubs, power steering and brakes, and 15″ steel wheels. This Scout II Traveler project is now offered at no reserve with spare parts and a clean Rhode Island title in the seller’s name.

The Scout II Traveler was introduced for the 1976 model year and featured a Traveltop-style body with a removable hardtop and a 118″ extended wheelbase. This example is finished in white with blue stripes and business lettering. The tailgate is not installed, there is rust in the rockers, fenders, and quarter panels, the right-side mirror is missing, and general paint damage is visible. The rear floor has been replaced, and reproduction sheetmetal parts are included in the sale.

The 15″ steel wheels wear a mix of Goodyear and Uniroyal tires. The truck has been fitted with a 4″ suspension lift and is equipped with manually locking front hubs, power-assisted steering, and power brakes.

Patterned cloth lines the uninstalled front bench seat.

A Chevrolet-sourced steering wheel fronts a horizontal 100-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 49k miles, approximately five of which were added under current ownership.

A 345ci V8 sits underhood. The fuel tank was disconnected in 2023, and the engine has not been started since.

The truck is equipped with a three-speed automatic transmission and a transfer case. The frame was sanded and painted in 2023, per the seller.
