LS3-Powered 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible 5-Speed

This 1968 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was refurbished under prior ownership and was modified in 2018 with a 525 horsepower-rated Chevrolet Performance LS3 crate engine and a Tremec TKO five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a Positraction limited-slip differential, a black convertible soft top, retractable headlights, 15″ American Racing wheels, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, Dakota Digital instrumentation, an aftermarket tilt steering column, and an aftermarket stereo. This modified C3 convertible was acquired by the seller in 2026 and is now offered with parts invoices and a clean Wisconsin title in the seller’s name.

Delivered from the factory in Rally Red (974), the body was repainted in red under prior ownership. Side-exit exhaust pipes were added, while the rear-exit exhaust cutouts were filled in. Exterior features include a black convertible soft top, retractable headlights, chrome bumpers, and side fender vents. The soft top is noted to fit tight, while the windshield wipers are described as intermittent. Paint imperfections are shown up close in the gallery.

American Racing 15″ wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires measuring 225/60 in front and 245/60 at the rear. The car is equipped with power steering, which utilizes a Holley fluid reservoir. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, and carbon-ceramic pads along with replacement rotors and calipers were installed in 2018.

The bucket seats are reupholstered in black vinyl, and the dash, door panels, carpeting, and under-dash wiring harness were replaced as well. Additional equipment includes an aftermarket tilt steering column, a Silver Sport compact billet STX shifter, an aftermarket AM/FM/CD/cassette stereo, and a cabin heater. Some cracks are visible on the seatback panels, and there is a crack in the steering wheel.

Dakota Digital gauges have been installed in the dash and center stack, and the digital odometer shows 1k miles. Approximately 200 miles have been added under current ownership, but total mileage is unknown.

The Chevrolet Performance 6.2-liter LS3 crate V8 was purchased and installed in 2018, and it was rated at 525 horsepower when new. It features include a Chevrolet Performance ECU, carbon-fiber fuel rail covers, billet fuel rails, an aftermarket air intake, and a Champion aluminum radiator with dual electric cooling fans.

The Silver Sport Transmissions Tremec TKO five-speed manual transmission is said to be accompanied by an SST Advanced Friction billet steel flywheel and GRP clutch set as well as a Wilwood clutch master cylinder with braided stainless steel lines.
