This 1966 Ford Mustang fastback was built in July 1965 at the Metuchen, New Jersey, assembly plant, and was the subject of a refurbishment by the selling dealer in 2023. Work during the refurbishment included repainting the car in white with red bodyside stripes, refreshing the red vinyl interior, and a drivetrain build that features a 308ci V8, a Borg Warner T5 five-speed manual transmission, and an 8″ limited-slip differential with a 3.55:1 final drive. The engine is equipped with Ford Racing aluminum cylinder heads, Mahle forged pistons, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, and a Pypes dual-exit exhaust system, and Borgeson power-assisted steering, KYB shocks, four-piston front brake calipers, 15″ styled steel wheels, a retro-style stereo, an SST shifter, and Rally-Pac gauges are additional highlights. The car was previously sold by the selling dealer on BaT in June 2024, and it was recently reacquired. Work in 2026 included replacing the spark plugs, fuel pump, engine and transmission mounts, front brake hoses, and heater control switch. This Mustang is offered by the selling dealer in Massachusetts with refurbishment records, a 2023 dyno sheet, and an Arizona title.

The car was delivered from the factory in Wimbledon White (M), and it was stripped and repainted by the selling dealer in 2023. Equipment includes a GT-style grille, fog lights, and badging as well as chrome bumpers, 302ci fender badging, red side stripes, an antenna, and a dual exhaust outlets that exit through the rear valance.

The 15″ styled-steel wheels are mounted with 215/65 BFGoodrich Silvertown redline radial tires, while a matching spare is located in the trunk. During the refurbishment the suspension was overhauled, lowered 1″, and fitted with a larger front sway bar and KYB shocks. A Borgeson power steering system was also installed at that time. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-piston disc brakes up front and drums out back. The front brake hoses were replaced in 2026.

The front bucket seats are upholstered in red vinyl that extends to the rear seats and door panels, while color-coordinated carpets line the floors. Equipment includes a center console, woodgrain trim, Pony accents on the front backrests, a retro-style stereo with door-mounted speakers, an SST shifter, lap belts, and black floor mats. The heater control switch and pedal pads were replaced in 2026.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, amperage, and coolant temperature. A Rally-Pac tachometer and clock were installed on the steering column by the selling dealer. The five-digit odometer shows 59k miles, though total mileage is unknown.

The replacement 308ci V8 was reportedly overhauled in 2023 by NATS Engines of Seekonk, Massachusetts, and features the following components:

Peak output was measured at 398.1 horsepower and 377.2 lb-ft of torque.

Work in preparation for the sale included replacing the fuel pump, engine mounts, and spark plugs.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Borg Warner T5 5-speed manual transmission that was rebuilt by George’s Transmission in Coventry, Rhode Island, during the refurbishment. A Mcleod Street Pro 10.5″ clutch is also fitted along with an 8″ limited-slip differential with a 3.55:1 final drive. A replacement fuel tank and fuel  lines were installed in 2023, and the transmission mount was replaced in August 2026.

The warranty number is consistent with a 1966 Mustang fastback that was built in Metuchen, New Jersey and equipped with a 289ci 2V V8. Decoding the trim tag reveals the following information:
