This 1953 MG TF left the factory in October 1953 and was fitted with a 1.8-liter Volvo B18 inline-four and M45 transmission as well as front disc brakes under previous ownership. Refinished in red with replacement black vinyl upholstery, the car features 15″ wire wheels, dual SU carburetors, a black Amco soft top, fender-mounted mirrors, and headlight stone guards. This TF was acquired by the seller on BaT in June 2026 and is now offered at no reserve with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, the owner’s manuals, front side curtains, spare parts, and a clean Florida title listing the car as a 1954 model.

The car left the factory in MG Green with a Biscuit soft top and was refinished in red under previous ownership. Exterior details include a black Amco soft top, fender-mounted mirrors, headlight stone guards, and a folding windshield. The windshield wiper and horn are non-functional, the left-side horn cover and rear side curtains are missing, and other imperfections can be seen in the gallery.

The 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with Pirelli Cinturato P3 tires, which the seller recommends be replaced, and a spare showing sidewall cracks is affixed to the rear. The car is equipped with front disc and rear drum brakes.

The low-back bucket seats are trimmed in replacement black vinyl, and the dashboard was refinished to match under previous ownership. Additional details include a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a passenger grab handle, a wood shift knob, and dual dashboard storage compartments.

A banjo-style steering wheel fronts Jaeger instrumentation consisting of a 105-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a combination gauge for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and amperage. The five-digit odometer has rolled over at least once and shows 15k miles, approximately 100 of which were covered under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The speedometer’s inset clock is missing the hands.

A 1.8-liter Volvo B18 inline-four with dual SU carburetors was retrofitted under previous ownership. Videos of the car starting, running, and driving are presented below.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Volvo-sourced four-speed manual transmission. The seller states that the exhaust pipes are in need of repair.

The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate shows factory colors and equipment and indicates that the car was dispatched to the USA on November 2, 1953.
