The 4.9-liter S62 V8 was shared with the contemporary E39 M5 and features double-VANOS variable valve timing for a factory-rated output of 394 horsepower and 368 lb-ft torque. The engine mounts were replaced in September 2021, while the fuel pump, filter, and pressure regulator were replaced in October 2021. The oil was changed earlier this year.
