This 1972 Datsun 240Z was acquired by the seller in 2010 and was subsequently re-powered with a 2.5-liter Toyota 1JZ-GTE inline-six paired with an R154 five-speed manual transmission. It was also fitted with a Ford IRS limited-slip rear end, a Skillard front splitter and side skirts, carbon-fiber aero components, 17″ Rota wheels, BC Racing coilovers, Apex Engineered billet suspension components, and Nissan Z-sourced four-wheel disc brakes. The interior is fitted with a Momo steering wheel, a Corbeau driver’s seat, and AutoMeter instrumentation. This modified 240Z is now offered with service records, spare parts, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Originally yellow, the car was repainted in black under prior ownership, and the engine bay was color-matched during the engine swap in 2012. The front and rear bumpers, as well as the windshield wipers, have been removed. Weld repairs have been completed around the A- and C-pillars as well as in the floorboards, and the seller notes that rust in the taillight area, the driver-side A-pillar, and the rear of the rocker panels has been treated with corrosion inhibitor. The passenger door is in need of adjustment. Exterior modifications include:
- Skillard front splitter
- Skillard side skirts
- Aftermarket front spoiler
- Techno Toy Tuning front tow hook
- Carbon-fiber wheel-arch flares
- Carbon-fiber rear decklid spoiler
This is a relist after the vehicle was previously sold on BaT in August 2026 and the winning bidder failed to follow through with their commitment to purchase. This was not due to any fault with the vehicle. The winner’s participation on BaT has been restricted and their buyer’s fee was not refunded.

The Rota RKR-R wheels measure 17×9.5″ and were mounted with 255/40 Falken Azenis RT660 tires in 2023. Stopping power is provided by Nissan 370Z-sourced four-wheel disc brakes, and the booster diaphragm was replaced in 2021. The seller tells us that custom subframe reinforcements have been fitted, while additional suspension and brake modifications include:
- BC Racing coilovers
- Swift springs
- Techno Toy Tuning steering knuckles
- Apex Engineered rear subframe
- Apex Engineered front control arms
- Apex Engineered rear control arms
- Apex Engineered tie rods
- Steel-braided brake lines
- Wilwood proportioning valve

The cabin features a Corbeau fixed-back bucket seat for the driver trimmed in black cloth, while the differing passenger bucket seat is upholstered in black vinyl. A purple Crown Royal bag is used as a shift boot over the Driftmotion short-throw shifter. The weatherstripping was replaced in 2016, and sound-deadening material was added and the carpets were replaced in 2023. The blinkers are not wired to the factory turn signal switch, the heater blower motor is not connected, and various rear interior trim pieces are missing.

The Momo steering wheel frames aftermarket AutoMeter instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for boost pressure, water temperature, and oil pressure. An AutoMeter fuel level gauge and an AEM digital air/fuel ratio gauge are mounted in the center stack. A Dakota Digital RPM signal calibration box is installed. The replacement five-digit odometer shows 3,200 miles, and the seller notes they’ve driven the car around 5k miles.

The turbocharged 2.5-liter 1JZ-GTE inline-six was installed in 2012 using Tech2 Motorsports swap components. Engine modifications include an ACT lightweight flywheel, Greddy adjustable cam gears and timing belt, a Blitz-tuned ECU, and a front-mount intercooler. In 2017, the chassis was rewired with an EZ wiring kit incorporating a battery isolator kill switch, and an ATL 15-gallon fuel cell was installed in the cargo area along with stainless-steel hard lines, PTFE steel-braided flex lines, Earls AN fittings, twin Walbro fuel pumps, and a surge tank. The oil cooler was rebuilt with Toyota gaskets in 2020, and the alternator was replaced in 2021.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a MkIII Supra-sourced R154 five-speed manual transmission and a Ford 8.8″ differential equipped with a Truetrac limited-slip differential and upgraded axles. A custom 3″ stainless-steel exhaust system with an HKS Hi-Power muffler is also fitted.
