This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible was purchased by the seller’s grandparents in 2010, and subsequent refurbishment work included separating the body from the frame and repainting it in the factory shade of Colonial Cream. It is powered by a 283ci V8 with a four-barrel carburetor and a dual exhaust system, and further equipment includes a three-speed manual transmission with overdrive as well as a power-operated white convertible top, body-color wheels, chrome hubcaps, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, chrome bumpers, and polished trim. The cabin is appointed with bench seating, silver and yellow upholstery, and aftermarket air conditioning. This Bel Air convertible is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with service records, spare parts, a pair of barstools, the owner’s and service manuals, and an Oklahoma title in the owner’s name.

The car left the factory finished in Colonial Cream, and refurbishment work completed around 2010 consisted of removing the body from the frame and repainting it in the factory shade, per the seller. Exterior elements include a power-operated white convertible top, twin wind splits, hooded headlights, dual chrome mirrors, tinted glass, dual exhaust outlets, and a fuel filler concealed above the left taillight. The passenger door button does not release fully.

Body-color 15″ steel wheels wear knockoff-style chrome covers and are mounted with Diamond Back whitewall radial tires. A full-size spare is found in the trunk. The car has been retrofitted with a power-assisted four-wheel disc brake system with a dual-circuit master cylinder, and power steering has also been added.

The cabin features a split-folding front bench seat upholstered in silver and yellow vinyl that extends to the door panels. Appointments include aftermarket air conditioning and bowtie-logo floor mats. The trunk does not latch well, and the dash lights and radio do not work. The clock runs, but the seller is unsure if it keeps correct time.

The silver two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a 120-mph speedometer flanked by coolant temperature and fuel level gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 3k miles, nearly all of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 283ci V8 breathes through a four-barrel carburetor and a dual exhaust system. The engine is said to have been overhauled in 2010, and it has been retrofitted with an alternator.

The engine pad is displayed in the gallery.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission with overdrive that was overhauled circa ~2015. An oil leak between the engine and transmission is noted.
