1985 Mercedes-Benz 380SL

This 1985 Mercedes-Benz 380SL has spent most of its time registered in Alabama, and it recently received an exterior repaint and a replacement engine. The car is finished in silver over burgundy MB-Tex upholstery and is powered by a 3.8-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a black soft top, a removable hardtop, 14″ Bundt wheels, a Becker stereo, and automatic climate control. The current owner acquired the car in 2022 and has since added approximately 1,600 of the 52k miles shown. This R107 is now offered on dealer consignment with a window sticker, an owner’s manual, service records, a clean Carfax report, and Alabama registration.

The car left the factory finished in Astral Silver Metallic (735) and received bodywork and a repaint in June 2026. The soft top was recently replaced, and the car is equipped with a removable hardtop. Exterior details include quad headlights, fog lights, a power antenna, and chrome-accented bumpers and trim. Close-up photos of the exterior are provided in the gallery below.

The 14″ Bundt alloy wheels are mounted with Hankook Kinergy tires. The car was factory equipped with power steering, a fully independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes.

The cabin features two bucket seats upholstered in Burgundy MB-Tex (177) along with a matching center console and door panels. Interior features include a Becker AM/FM/cassette stereo, electric windows, central locking, and automatic climate control. The air conditioning system was serviced under current ownership.

The four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 52k miles, approximately 1,600 of which were added under current ownership.

The 3.8-liter V8 is a replacement unit that was installed in 2025, and the timing chain, fuel pump, fuel accumulator, cam gears, spark plugs, and engine mounts were replaced at the time of installation.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission.

The window sticker notes initial delivery to Jack Ingram Motors of Montgomery, Alabama, along with factory equipment, colors, options, and a total suggested retail price of $44,420.

The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage.

The car is being offered on its Alabama registration, which serves as an ownership document in Alabama.
