This 2018 Ford Mustang is #65 of 68 50th Anniversary Cobra Jet turn-key race cars produced by Ford Performance to commemorate the 1968 debut of the Mustang Cobra Jet. It was purchased new by the seller from Rock River Block Ford in Rockford, Illinois, in November 2019. Power is supplied by a Whipple-supercharged 5.2-liter V8 linked with a T4 three-speed racing transmission and a 9″ Strange Engineering rear axle, and the car is finished in Oxford White with vintage-style Cobra Jet graphics and 50th-anniversary badging. Equipment includes a parachute system, a wheelie bar, Strange Engineering calipers, adjustable coilover suspension, forged RC Components wheels, and a carbon-fiber hood. Inside, the race-prepped cabin is outfitted with an NHRA-certified roll cage, a Sparco quick-release steering wheel, a RacePak digital dashboard display, and Racetech fixed-back seats. This Cobra Jet is now offered by the seller at no reserve in Minnesota with a copy of the original sales invoice, factory literature, and a bill of sale.

Each 50th Anniversary Cobra Jet Mustang was modified by Ford Performance, and this example is finished in Oxford White. Features include a carbon-fiber hood, a parachute and wheelie bar, a bumper-mounted battery kill switch, vintage-style Cobra Jet side graphics, and 50th-anniversary badging.

Forged-aluminum RC Components wheels measure 4″ in width up front and 10″ wide out back and are accented by commemorative dates and Cobra Jet lettering. They are mounted with Mickey Thompson ET competition tires, and the car is equipped with Strange Engineering two-way adjustable coilover suspension and multi-piston calipers fitted over slotted rotors.

Fixed-back Racetech seats are accented by 50th Anniversary Cobra Jet embroidery. Equipment includes a Watson Racing NHRA-certified roll cage, an RJS Racing driver’s side harness and window net, and a Speedmaster ratchet shifter with controls for the line lock system. The car is not equipped with air conditioning, a stereo, or a passenger seat belt. The passenger seat is provided for compliance with NHRA Stock class rules, and it is not intended for use.

A black center panel with switchgear controls is accented by a 50th Anniversary Cobra Jet logo and denotes this chassis as number 65 in the series.

The quick-release Sparco steering wheel sits ahead of a RacePak digital dashboard display, and a shift light is mounted to the dashboard. Cobra Jet Mustangs were not delivered with odometers, and the total mileage is unknown. The seller estimates adding two miles under their ownership.

The aluminum 5.2-liter V8 was modified by Ford Performance with a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger, a Ford Performance intake, an ATI Super Damper, anodized forged pistons, H-beam connecting rods, titanium valves, and Kooks long-tube exhaust headers.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a T4 three-speed racing transmission, an aluminum driveshaft, a Strange Engineering 9″ solid rear axle, forged components, and a spool with 3.89:1 gearing. The four-link rear suspension is equipped with Panhard and anti-sway bars.

A copy of the original sales invoice from Rock River Block Ford is dated November 7, 2019, and it lists a total price of $170,475.
The vehicle does not have a title, as it is not registered or intended for street use. It is being sold on a bill of sale.
