This 1965 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster was acquired by the late owner in 2006 and is finished in cream with a black soft top and removable hardtop. The car features enclosed headlights and rides on 15″ wire-spoke wheels, while power is from a 4.2-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Inside, red leather–trimmed seats are accompanied by a wood-rimmed steering wheel and a heater. Work in preparation for the sale involved replacing the fuel pump and servicing the power-assisted disc brakes. This XKE Series I roadster is now offered on dealer consignment in San Luis Obispo, California, with a tool roll, jack bag, recent records, and a clean California title.

Series I E-Types were equipped with covered headlights and taillights mounted above the chrome rear bumpers. This example was repainted in its current cream finish at some point under prior ownership. It is accompanied by a black soft top and removable hardtop. A louvered clamshell hood, enclosed headlights, triple windshield wipers, wraparound bumpers, and dual exhaust outlets are further details.

The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 185-width Vredestein tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. Brake work in preparation for the sale involved refurbishing the master cylinder, replacing one of the front calipers, repairing the hoses, and changing the fluid.

The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in red leather along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. The seats are paired with gray Britax lap belts, while the dash is trimmed in black vinyl. Further interior appointments include a sliding rearview mirror, a heater, and hand-crank windows. Wear is visible on the seat upholstery.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 47k miles.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was specified from the factory with triple SU carburetors and rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque. The fuel pump was replaced in preparation for the sale.

The cylinder-head and block stampings are shown above and match the number provided by the Jaguar Heritage Trust.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

A tool roll is included in the sale along with a jack bag that can be viewed in the gallery.
The selling dealer is listing the car on behalf of an estate, and a representative of the estate will handle the transaction.
