1989 Porsche 911 Speedster

This 1989 Porsche 911 Speedster is one of 823 US-market examples produced for the model year. The car was initially delivered to Gregg Motors Porsche in Santa Barbara, California, and spent time in Oregon, Colorado, and Texas before being exported to Germany. The car was purchased by the seller from marquee expert Early 911s of Wuppertal, Germany, in 2023 and subsequently imported back to the US. It is finished in Dark Blue over Cashmere leather and is powered by a 3.2-liter flat-six paired with a G50 five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels, a Dark Blue soft top, a fiberglass twin-hump convertible-top cover panel, power-adjustable sport seats, a short-throw shifter, a Blaupunkt CD stereo, and fog lights. This 911 Speedster is now offered with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, the owner’s manual, a tool kit, a clean Carfax report, and a South Carolina title in the seller’s name.

The car features widened rear bodywork shared with the contemporary 911 Turbo, a fiberglass twin-hump convertible-top rear deck, and a shortened windscreen and side windows when compared to the standard Carrera. This example is finished in Dark Blue (347) with a Dark Blue soft top, and equipment includes integrated fog lights, headlight washers, rear bumperettes, and a single exhaust outlet.

Staggered-width 16″ Fuchs wheels are mounted with Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires that show 2019 date codes. Braking is handled by black Porsche-script calipers over cross-drilled rotors at all four corners.

The power-adjustable sport seats are upholstered in Cashmere leather and are complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. A Blaupunkt CD stereo has been fitted and the car is further equipped with a short-throw shifter and Coco floor mats. The Speedster was not equipped with rear seats, and the air conditioning system does not work.

The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline flanked by a 170-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for oil temperature, oil pressure, oil level, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 52k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership. The speedometer was removed for odometer repairs in 2023, and the total mileage is unknown.

The 3.2-liter flat-six features Bosch fuel injection and was factory rated at 215 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a G50 five-speed manual transaxle.

The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity lists a production completion date of June 9, 1989, as well as factory options and identification numbers.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage.

The South Carolina title lists “Actual Mileage” in the Vehicle Brand(s) section.
