This 1972 Plymouth Duster was modified with the installation of a 360ci V8 in 2020, and it was acquired by the seller in mid-2026. Work performed under current ownership has involved installing Scat Procar front bucket seats, a Hurst shifter, a Holley 650-cfm carburetor, and an aluminum intake manifold as well as overhauling the brakes and replacing the grille, rear main seal, various gaskets and hoses, alternator, engine and transmission mounts, and torque converter. The car is finished in Tor-Red with a white vinyl roof over white vinyl upholstery, and equipment includes a TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission, front disc brakes, staggered-diameter Rallye wheels, anti-roll bars, an aluminum radiator, and a JVC stereo. This modified Duster is now offered with a broadcast sheet, service records, a brochure, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The Valiant-based Duster coupe was introduced in late 1969 for the 1970 model year, and this example is finished in Tor-Red (EV2) with a white vinyl roof covering. Exterior equipment includes body-side and tail-panel tape stripes, round headlights, a driver-side mirror, bright trim, and chrome bumpers. The “shark-tooth” grille and the headlight bezels were replaced in August 2026. Chips in the paint and bubbles under the vinyl roof are depicted in the gallery below.

Rallye 14″ front and 15″ rear wheels are mounted with Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires measuring 215/70 in front and 245/60 at the rear. Braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The braking system was refurbished under current ownership by resurfacing the rotors and replacing the front pads and the rear wheel cylinders. Anti-roll bars are fitted at both ends of the suspension.

Scat Procar front bucket seats trimmed in white vinyl were installed in August 2026, not long before a Hurst floor shifter was adapted. The rear bench also is upholstered in white vinyl. Other interior appointments include a JVC stereo, aftermarket speakers, a heater, a locking glovebox, front and rear lap belts, and supplemental front shoulder belts. The seller notes that the window regulators are loose, causing the windows to rattle when the doors are shut or the car is in motion.

The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, warning lights, and supplementary gauges for amperage, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 74k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership.

The 360ci V8 is said to have been installed in this car in 2020. The engine has been rebuilt and is fitted with a performance camshaft and an aluminum radiator and shroud. An aluminum intake manifold, a Holley 650-cfm four-barrel carburetor, an open-element air cleaner, and finned rocker covers were installed under current ownership. In addition, the rear main seal, engine gaskets, bulkhead connector, coolant hoses, thermostat and gasket, an HEI distributor and ignition coil, alternator, spark plugs, and engine mounts were replaced.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a rebuilt TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission. A torque converter was fabricated under current ownership, and the transmission mount was replaced.
