Fuel-Injected 440-Powered 1973 Plymouth Road Runner 4-Speed at No Reserve

This 1973 Plymouth Road Runner was owned by the same person from 1997 through the selling dealer’s acquisition of the vehicle in mid-2026. The car was updated with a 440ci V8 under prior ownership, and the engine is fitted with Holley Sniper fuel injection and matched with a four-speed manual transmission. Finished in metallic brown over tan vinyl upholstery with black seat covers, the Plymouth features 15″ aluminum wheels, power front disc brakes, woodgrain interior trim, front bucket seats, and a Hurst shifter as well as an Edelbrock intake manifold, a dual-tube cold-air intake, an aluminum radiator, tubular headers, and a dual exhaust system. This modified Road Runner is now offered at no reserve with Sniper EFI paperwork and a Minnesota title.

Finished from the factory in Tahitian Gold Metallic (JY9), the car was repainted at some point under previous ownership, according to the seller. White stripes run down the sides of the vehicle and accent its bulged hood. Other equipment includes Road Runner graphics, quad headlights, a driver-side mirror, dual tailpipes, and chrome bumpers with rubber overriders at the rear. The seller notes that the paint job is “driver quality”, rust is evident at the bottoms of the doors and on the roof, and chipped paint and other imperfections are present.

Center Line–style 15″ aluminum wheels are mounted with staggered-size Mastercraft front tires and Mickey Thompson rear rubber. Braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.

The front bucket seats and rear bench wear black aftermarket covers. Interior appointments include woodgrain trim, a Hurst shifter, sun visors, brown carpeting, and bright doorsill plates. Cracks in the dashboard are shown in the gallery.

The three-spoke steering wheel has a Road Runner “Beep! Beep!” center cap and fronts a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 94k miles, approximately 200 of which were added by the selling dealer. True mileage is unknown.

The 440ci RB V8 was installed at some point under prior ownership, and it was fitted with Holley Sniper EFI fuel injection in 2022. The engine is augmented by an Edelbrock TM7 intake manifold, a dual-tube cold-air intake setup, Mickey Thompson finned rocker covers, a Holley ignition system, an aluminum radiator, and tubular exhaust headers.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through an A833 four-speed manual transmission that is linked to a “489 case” 8¾” rear end.

The fender tag has been removed from the car. It indicates that the vehicle is a Plymouth Road Runner coupe (RM21) that left the factory equipped with a 340ci V8 featuring a four-barrel carburetor (E55) along with a four-speed manual transmission (D21). The tag also reveals that the car was originally finished in Tahitian Gold Metallic (JY9) with white body-side and hood stripes (V8W and V9W) over bench seats upholstered in gold-colored vinyl (C2Y4).

The Minnesota title lists “N/REQD” in the Odometer field.
