2.8L V6-Powered 1973 Triumph Stag at No Reserve

This 1973 Triumph Stag was fitted with the 2.8-liter V6 and three-speed automatic transmission from a Mercury Capri in 1977, and the car was repainted blue in 2013. A navy blue mohair soft top was installed in 2025, at which point the seals and hardware for the body-color hardtop were replaced, and after the seller acquired the car on BaT in March 2026, BCC Performance front disc brakes and a Pertronix electronic distributor and ignition coil were installed, the power steering was rebuilt, and various suspension components were replaced. The car rides on 14″ GKN five-spoke cast aluminum wheels, and the gray vinyl interior features wood veneer interior trim, power windows, and an AM/FM radio. This Stag is now offered at no reserve with a driver’s handbook, a shop manual, service records, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Finished from the factory in Sapphire Blue, the car underwent a repaint in 2013, while the bumpers were re-chromed and the overrider rubber inserts were replaced. A navy blue mohair soft top was installed in 2025, and the seals and hardware for the body-color hardtop and soft top were replaced at that time. Blemishes in the paint, dents on the left fender, pitting on the chrome door handles, and body filler below the rear bumper are outlined in the previous listing, while the seller notes the driver door handle has fallen inside the door, the locks don’t work, and the right side of the tonneau cover cannot be latched.

The 14″ GKN cast aluminum wheels are mounted with Landsail tires, and a GKN spare wheel is installed in the trunk. In May 2026, BCC Performance front disc brakes with four-pot calipers were installed, the power steering rack and pump were rebuilt, a lower control arm was repaired, and the shocks and springs, suspension bushings, and front brake bearings and hoses were replaced.

The cabin is trimmed in gray vinyl in addition to wood veneer accents. Amenities include power windows, an AM/FM radio, and an integrated roll bar and padded T-bar. The driver’s seatbelt was replaced under current ownership. The clock does not work, the right door window is slow, and there is a crack in the upper dashboard.

Smiths instrumentation comprises a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 77k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.

The 2.8-liter V6 and the three-speed automatic transmission were sourced from a Mercury Capri and installed in 1977. In 2025, the engine oil and coolant were changed, components for the air conditioning system were removed, and the battery was replaced. Under current ownership, a Pertronix distributor, ignition coil, and ignition wires were installed, the temperature sensor and intake manifold bypass hose were replaced. The seller notes engine oil, transmission oil, and coolant leaks and recommends the exhaust system be replaced.
