Welcome to the BaT Question of the Week! For those unfamiliar, here are the rules: we ask an automotive-themed question, and the author of our favorite answer from the comments is awarded a $25 credit to the BaT Gear Store.
This Saturday—October 31—is Halloween for those celebrating. And in the spirit of this spooky day, we’re asking this seasonally-themed question:
What’s the most mysterious ghost problem you’ve encountered in an automobile?

We’re talking about those anomalies that enigmatically disappear as quickly as they appear. Sometimes it’s an unidentified mechanical clunk that only happens when it’s 75 degrees outside or an electrical gremlin that causes the dashboard lights to flicker as if the car itself was performing a séance. Of course, it only happens when no one else is around, and not even the best diagnostic equipment in the world can sniff out the issue.
This week is your opportunity to emphatically throw your hands up, mimic what you witnessed, and tell us your most mysterious anecdote.
What’s the most mysterious ghost problem you’ve encountered in an automobile?
Tell us your suggestions in the comments, and give a thumbs-up to any nominations that grab your attention. We’ll announce the winner on Monday.
