This 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 sport coupe was refurbished by family of the current owner circa 2014, and it is finished in Sunburst Orange Metallic over two-tone beige vinyl upholstery. The car is powered by a 396ci Turbo-Jet V8 linked with a four-speed manual transmission, and further details include 15″ Cragar S/S wheels, power steering, power drum brakes, Detroit Speed lowering springs, chrome bumpers, and a custom exhaust system with headers and MagnaFlow mufflers. Cabin appointments consist of bench seating, a column-mounted tachometer, and a RetroSound receiver linked to an aftermarket sound system. This Chevelle SS 396 is now offered on dealer consignment with spare parts, refurbishment records, service manuals, a car cover, and a clean California title.

The car left the factory finished in Cameo Beige (V) and was repainted in the shade of “Sunburst Orange Metallic”, per the selling dealer, and photos taken during the work are provided below. Metalwork was completed and replacement body panels were fitted in 2014, and the windshield and side glass were replaced in 2016. Exterior details include quad headlights, simulated hood scoops, chrome wheel-arch moldings, vent windows, and chrome bumpers. The seller notes a paint run on the passenger door along with dings and scratches around the exterior.

Chrome-finished 15″ Cragar S/S wheels wear older BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires measuring 235/60 up front and 255/60 out back. The suspension has been modified with Detroit Speed 2″ drop springs, AC Delco shocks, and replacement sway bar end links. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel drums.

The bench seats are upholstered in two-tone beige vinyl, and replacement carpets line the floors. Appointments include a heater, front lap belts, and a RetroSound digital receiver linked to an Alpine amplifier, Kicker speakers, and a Rockford Fosgate subwoofer. The seat belts, sun visors, dash pad, headliner, and dome light assembly were replaced in 2014. Wear is noted across various interior trim components.

The orange-and-white steering wheel frames a horizontal 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and a fuel-level gauge. An Auto Gage tachometer is attached to the column, and an auxiliary cluster mounted below the dashboard displays coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 1,700 miles, fewer than 500 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 396ci V8 is fitted with an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, a four-barrel carburetor, chrome Moroso valve covers, and HEI-style ignition.

Photos of drivetrain identification numbers are provided in the gallery.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Long-tube headers are linked with an X-pipe exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers.
