This 2.9-liter BMC inline-six is said to have been rebuilt before the seller acquired it in 2014 for installation in a 1962 Austin-Healey BN7 MK II. The car was driven approximately 2,000 miles with this engine before it was removed in 2016. The seller reports that the engine was fogged and wrapped before being stored in a climate-controlled space for the ensuing decade. It is now offered by a BaT Local Partner at no reserve in Dayton, Ohio.

The 2.9-liter variant of the BMC inline-six, which featured a four-bearing crankshaft, was announced in July 1959 and powered a variety of Austin, Austin-Healey, Vanden Plas, and Wolseley models. This example has dual SU HD6 carburetors. The seller reports that the engine turns over, and a video showing it running before removal is included below.
