This black-over-black 1980 BMW 320iS was ordered with the North America-exclusive ‘S’ Package, which added a Getrag five-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, revised suspension, front spoiler, a sunroof, bolstered Recaro sport seats, and a three-spoke Sport steering wheel. Power is from a 1.8-liter M10 inline-four, and additional equipment includes fog lights, 13″ wheels, a Blaupunkt cassette stereo, air conditioning, and a wood shift knob. The car was listed on BaT in August 2019 before being acquired by the seller, who subsequently installed Bilstein shocks, Pirelli tires, and a replacement wiring harness, radiator, and rear speakers. This E21 is now offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The E21 320iS was offered from 1980 to 1983 and added a front spoiler and sunroof. This example is finished in black with contrasting pinstripes, and exterior equipment includes a sunroof, quad headlights, fog lights, dual side mirrors, and pop-out rear vent windows. The 13″ wheels are mounted with Pirelli tires. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums, and the car came equipped from the factory with a sport suspension. The seller notes that Bilstein shocks and replacement tires were installed under current ownership.

The Recaro front sport seats and the rear bench were reupholstered in black cloth under previous ownership. Equipment includes a Blaupunkt cassette stereo, air conditioning, and a wood shift knob. Speakers were integrated into the parcel shelf under current ownership, and Coco floor mats were added. The digital clock and glovebox flashlight do not work, and there is a crack in the dash.

The three-spoke Sport steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 119k miles, approximately 1,250 of which were added under current ownership.

The 1.8-liter M10 inline-four was factory rated at 101 horsepower and 100 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The radiator and wiring harness were replaced, and the engine was cleaned under current ownership, according to the seller.
