1990 BMW 325is Coupe

This 1990 BMW 325is was registered with two owners in California before it was acquired by the seller in 2016, and it was subsequently transported to Massachusetts. Work under current ownership consisted of fluid changes, a valve adjustment, odometer and instrument cluster repairs, and replacing the timing belt, windshield, rear window, right rear axle, motor mount, alternator, filters, drive belts, tires, and assorted cooling, ignition, and braking components. Specified in Bronzit Beige Metallic over Natur leather, the car is powered by a 2.5-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 14″ basketweave alloy wheels, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, quad headlights, a JVC CD stereo, cruise control, power windows and locks, an onboard computer, and air conditioning. This E30 coupe was listed by the seller on BaT in October 2019, and it is offered again with a car cover, a removed factory stereo head unit, a service spreadsheet from current ownership, a Carfax report, and a clean Massachusetts title in the seller’s name.

The two-door bodywork is finished in Bronzit Beige Metallic (139) and is equipped with a power-operated sunroof, fog lights, front and rear spoilers, and quad headlights. The Carfax report lists damage in an August 2009 entry, though no additional information is available. A replacement heated rear window was installed in 2016, a new windshield was fitted in 2022, and the side marker lights were replaced in 2023, per the seller.  The seller notes that the hood has been repainted. Photos of paint imperfections are viewable in the gallery below.

The 14″ basketweave alloy wheels are mounted with Maxxis MA-202 tires that show production date codes from 2023. The car is equipped with a sport suspension, and stopping is accomplished via ventilated front and solid rear anti-lock disc brakes. Work performed in June 2025 consisted of tightening the lower steering shaft slip joint, a brake fluid flush, and replacing the right rear axle joint and the rear brake pads and rotors.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in Natur leather along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. The onboard computer has been retrofitted with an LED backlight, and a JVC CD stereo has been installed. Amenities include cruise control, power windows and locks, and air conditioning. A replacement window switch was installed circa 2016, and the removed factory stereo head unit is included in the sale.

A four-spoke airbag steering wheel fronts a 150-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel economy, fuel level, and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 82k miles, approximately 22k of which were added under current ownership. Replacement odometer gears were installed in September 2025, and additional work at that time is said to have included soldering a loose circuit board connection and replacing the cluster capacitors.

The 2.5-liter M20B25 inline-six was factory rated at 167 horsepower and 163 lb-ft of torque. The air conditioning system was converted to R134a refrigerant under previous ownership, and a replacement radiator is said to have been installed in 2016. The seller notes that the most recent timing belt and water pump replacement were performed in 2025, along with a valve adjustment and an oil change. Work since the 2019 auction included fluid changes and replacing the following components:

  • Thermostat
  • Coolant level sensor
  • Intake boot
  • Motor mount
  • Valve cover gasket & cam plugs
  • Throttle body gasket
  • Battery
  • Accessory drive belts
  • Alternator
  • Air & fuel filter
  • Spark plugs

A seller-compiled spreadsheet listing work completed under current ownership is shown above and can be viewed in the gallery.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. The right rear axle shaft was replaced in 2022, and the fluids in the transmission and differential were changed in June 2025. Additional photos of the underside condition are viewable in the gallery.

The Carfax report shows the aforementioned damage entry.
