1996 Volkswagen Beetle

This 1996 Volkswagen Beetle is a Mexican-market example finished in Sequoia Green over patterned gray cloth upholstery, and it now shows 9k kilometers (~6k miles). The car is powered by a 1.6-liter air-cooled flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes an adjustable front beam, chrome-finished 15″ steel wheels, front disc brakes, and fresh-air ventilation. The seller acquired the car circa 2024 and has since added approximately 1,200 kilometers. This Beetle is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, 1996 Beetle brochures, removed factory parts, two keys, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Michigan title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Sequoia Green and features chrome trim, dual side mirrors, and European-style thin chrome bumpers that have been fitted in place of the factory US-style bumpers. Updated chrome headlight trim rings have also been added, and the removed units are included in the sale.

Chrome-finished 15″ steel wheels wear Vredestein 185/70 tires. An adjustable front beam was added under previous ownership, and the suspension was lowered approximately 1″. The seller notes that the height can be readjusted to the factory specification. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums, and the brake fluid was flushed and replaced during the most recent documented service.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in patterned gray cloth. Equipment includes fresh-air ventilation and a locking glovebox.

The steering wheel frames a 160-km/h speedometer with an integrated fuel gauge and warning lights. The five-digit odometer indicates 9k kilometers (~6k miles), approximately 1,200 of which were added under current ownership. A tachometer has been added in place of the ashtray, and both the removed ashtray and stock steering wheel accompany the car.

The rear-mounted 1.6L air-cooled flat-four was factory rated at 49 horsepower. Recent service is said to have included an oil change, the addition of Motor Medic treatment to address a noisy hydraulic lifter, and installation of a replacement battery.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.

A 1996 Beetle brochure is included in the sale. Owner’s manuals, two keys with remotes, service records, and removed factory parts and spares are included in the sale.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage.
