This 2002 Mazda MX-5 Miata was purchased by the current owner in 2024 and built into a race car at Flatout Motorsports in Mendon, Massachusetts, for use in SCCA STL-class competition. Power comes from a blueprinted 1.8-liter inline-four with Wiseco pistons, Pauter connecting rods, Megacycle camshafts, Fidanza adjustable camshaft gears, a Meziere electric water pump, and a stainless-steel header. The engine is linked to a five-speed manual transmission and a Torsen differential, and chassis upgrades include JRi four-way adjustable coilovers, a Racing Beat front sway bar, and Mazda Sport brakes. The race-prepped interior features a roll cage, a Kirkey racing seat, a FireSense fire-suppression system, a CoolShirt system, a Sparco steering wheel, and an AiM digital dashboard and SmartyCam. An APR carbon-fiber rear wing, an aluminum front splitter, and Enkei 15” alloy wheels are among the other highlights. Since the build was completed, the car has been driven in events along the east coast, including a class victory at Watkins Glen in 2024. An engine rebuild was carried out earlier this year. This NB race car is now offered on dealer consignment by Reimel Motor Cars, a BaT Local Partner in Pennsylvania on a bill of sale with extra wheels and tires as well as service records.

The body is finished in lime green with a black hardtop, and an acrylic rear window and door vent window have been fitted. An APR GTC-200 48″ carbon-fiber rear wing has also been installed along with an aluminum front splitter, composite headlight blanks, and quick-release hood latches. Paint chips and other imperfections are noted around the car. An October 2021 entry on the Carfax report lists an accident and a total loss declaration, followed by a salvage title issuance in 2022.

The car rides on JRi four-way adjustable, remote-reservoir coilovers with Eibach springs, and a Racing Beat 1.25” front sway bar has been added.

Enkei 15” alloy wheels are finished in satin black and wrapped in Hoosier tires. Braking is handled by Mazda Sport calipers and rotors with Hawk pads.

The cabin is protected by a roll cage with door bars and houses a Kirkey racing seat with a head restraint and a Sabelt harness. A FireSense fire-suppression system has been installed along with an AiM SmartyCam system, a CoolShirt system, a Flagtronics FT200 transmitter, a Racequip window net, and a panoramic rearview mirror.

The Sparco steering wheel is mounted to a quick release hub and sits ahead of an AiM digital dashboard, while an AEM air/fuel ratio gauge and AccuTech supplementary instruments are mounted in the center stack. The car does not have an odometer.

The blueprinted 1.8-liter inline-four was rebuilt in 2026 at Angry Sheep Motorsports of Winchester, Virginia, and features Wiseco pistons, Pauter connecting rods, Megacycle camshafts, Fidanza adjustable camshaft gears, and Supertech valve components with dual springs. A high-volume oil pump, an upgraded throttle body, a cold-air intake, an aluminum catch can, an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and RX-8-specification fuel injectors were also installed. A Meziere electric water pump sends coolant through a Flyin’ Miata Qmax reroute kit, and a stainless-steel equal-length header flows into a custom exhaust system with V-band flanges and a Kooks competition muffler. The consigning dealer reports that the car has not been raced since the rebuild.

The five-speed manual transmission has an upgraded gearset, and an ACT StreetLite flywheel and full-face race clutch disc have been installed. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a serviceable driveshaft and a Torsen differential.

Two extra sets of wheels and tires are included in the sale along with a CoolShirt shirt, a Motorola two-way radio, and other items.

The Carfax report shows the aforementioned total loss declaration and salvage title issuance.

The vehicle is not legal for road use and carries no title or registration. It is being sold on a bill of sale.
