This 1940 Ford Deluxe business coupe was refurbished around 2009/2010 and was purchased by the seller’s grandfather circa 2017. The car was then acquired by the seller in 2026. It is powered by a flathead V8 sourced from a 1947 Ford that is equipped with aluminum Edelbrock cylinder heads, dual Stromberg 97 carburetors, and Fenton headers leading to a dual exhaust. It also has a three-speed manual transmission, an electric fuel pump, dual cooling fans, red 16″ steel wheels, hydraulic drum brakes, black and white upholstery, and dual side mirrors. This ’40 Business Coupe is now offered with spare parts and a Washington title in the seller’s name.

The business coupe bodywork is finished in black with chrome windshield trim, dual side mirrors, dual chevron taillights, and turn signals. The windshield wipers are said to operate intermittently, and paint imperfections are noted.

Red 16″ steel wheels are mounted with Firestone Deluxe Champion Gum-Dipped whitewall tires, and a spare wheel and tire are mounted in the trunk. Braking is provided by four-wheel hydraulic drums.

The cabin features a single bench seat upholstered in black and white. The clock and radio do not work.

The steering wheel sits ahead of a sweeping 100-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 600 miles, approximately 50 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The seller reports that the ignition switch is intermittent and must sometimes be moved within the “on” position to activate the electric fuel pump before starting.

The flathead V8 was installed in 2010 and is said to have been sourced from a 1947 Ford. It is equipped with finned aluminum Edelbrock cylinder heads, dual Stromberg 97 carburetors, Fenton exhaust headers, an electric fuel pump, a chrome fuel-pressure regulator mounted on the firewall, dual electric cooling fans, and an eight-volt battery for the six-volt electrical system.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed manual transmission. The car has a dual exhaust system.

A heater assembly is included in the sale but is not currently installed.

The Washington title carries an Antique brand.
