This Sultana White 1962 Lincoln Continental convertible was acquired around 14 years ago by its current owner, who has since spent more than $30k on services for its convertible top, 430ci V8, three-speed automatic transmission, suspension, brakes, power steering, power windows, and red leather interior. The car also features a power-adjustable front bench, a push-button AM radio, and 14″ wheels with covers. This Continental convertible shows 98k miles, and it is offered by the seller with an owner’s manual, records from current ownership, and a clean Ohio title in the owner’s name.

The convertible-top hydraulic system was rebuilt in 2013 by John Cashman of Lithia, Florida, and the car’s red convertible top was replaced in 2016. The body was finished at the factory in Sultana White (M), and areas of cracked paint and other flaws are pictured in close-up photos that are shared in the gallery below.

The 14″ steel wheels are trimmed with full covers, and they were mounted with American Classic whitewall tires in 2014. Control arm bushings, sway bar links, and additional front-end components were replaced in 2020, and the front brakes and wheel bearings were serviced. The steering gearbox and coupler were replaced in 2021.

In 2016 and 2017, the red interior was refreshed with replacement leather upholstery, carpeting, and woodgrain trim. In 2021, the power windows were serviced, and the rearview mirror was replaced along with the right side mirror. The heater-control vacuum system was overhauled in 2022.

The speedometer is said to have been refurbished under current ownership, as well. Its five-digit odometer shows 98k miles, approximately 9k of which were added under current ownership.

The 430ci V8 was factory rated at 300 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. In 2016, the engine was removed and resealed, the cylinder heads were repaired, and the timing sprockets, pushrods, and engine mounts were replaced. In 2022, the fuel tank was refurbished, and the radiator hoses, coolant reservoir, and thermostat were replaced. In 2023, the valve cover gaskets were replaced, the carburetor was rebuilt, and cylinder compression was measured, with a lower result in cylinder eight.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a dual-range three-speed automatic transmission and a differential with 2.89:1 gearing. The transmission and rear axle were also resealed in 2016, at which time the driveshaft was balanced, and u-joints were replaced.
