This 1970 Buick Skylark coupe was modified in the style of a contemporary GSX by the seller following their acquisition in 2023, and a GSX donor car is said to have been used to supply various components. The yellow paintwork is joined by black graphics and a GSX-style hood and rear spoiler, and further elements include a hood-mounted tachometer, 17″ Torq Thrust wheels, power steering, power drum brakes, long-tube headers, and a 10-bolt limited-slip rear axle. It is powered by a 455ci V8 linked to a modified TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. The cabin is outfitted with black vinyl bucket seats, a center console, a horseshoe-style shifter, and a Kenwood receiver and speakers. This GSX-style Skylark is now offered with a car cover and a Massachusetts title.

The body is finished in yellow with black side stripes, and further GSX-style modifications include a raised rear wing, a twin-scoop hood, a hood-mounted tachometer, and side graphics. It is also equipped with sport mirror housings, chrome wheel arch moldings, and body-color headlight surrounds. A touched-up area of the hood is photographed in the gallery.

American Racing 17″ Torq Thrust wheels are mounted with staggered-width Nitto NT555 G2 tires, and a full-size spare is stowed in the trunk. The car is equipped with power steering and power-assisted drum brakes.

The front bucket seats are upholstered in black vinyl and have headrests. Interior appointments include a center console, woodgrain trim, a horseshoe-style shifter, USB receptacles, GSX-style emblems, a Kenwood receiver and speakers, and auxiliary switches.

The Rallye-style steering wheel fronts an instrument cluster housing a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel-level gauge. The hood-mounted tachometer works intermittently. Auxiliary readouts for transmission temperature, voltage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature are mounted below the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 69k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 455ci V8 is said to have been assembled to “Stage 2” specifications, according to the seller, who notes that a tune-up service is required.

The seller tells us the transmission is a “switch-pitch” TH400 three-speed automatic, and it is linked with a 10-bolt limited-slip rear axle with 3.42:1 gears. Long-tube headers are linked to a custom exhaust system with electric cutouts and Flowmaster mufflers.
