This 1979 Mazda RX-7 GS was initially delivered to Bruce McGrath Mazda in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and was acquired new by the seller’s uncle. It was inherited by the seller in 2023, and now shows 52k miles. Powered by a 1.1-liter 12A rotary paired with a five-speed manual transmission, the car is finished in Sunbeam Silver Metallic over black vinyl with yellow plaid cloth inserts. Features include a sunroof, 13″ alloy wheels, an AM/FM stereo, and air conditioning. This RX-7 is offered at no reserve with the window sticker, the owner’s manual, service records, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.

The 13″ alloy wheels are mounted with Hercules Superior Metric tires, and a matching spare is located in the trunk. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.

The cabin features seats upholstered in black vinyl with yellow plaid cloth inserts. Interior features include an AM/FM stereo, hand-crank windows, and air conditioning. There is a tear on the lower front portion of the driver’s door panel and wear on the driver’s side carpeting.

The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 130-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 52k miles, approximately 300 of which were added under current ownership. The analog clock intermittently does not work.

The 1.1-liter 12A Wankel rotary was factory equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and was rated at 100 horsepower and 105 lb-ft of torque. The carburetor was rebuilt and the spark plugs replaced in 2026. The seller notes smoke following startup after sitting for a few days at a time and recommends an engine rebuild as a result.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The seller advises that the exhaust system needs replacement due to rust, there is a rust-through area near the left front lift point, and corrosion is noted around the underside components. The clutch was replaced in 2012.
