This 1996 BMW M3 coupe remained registered with its previous owner for over two decades before it was acquired by the seller on BaT in March 2022. Subsequent work included installing a Continental Bluetooth head unit and a ZHP shift knob, as well as replacing the valve cover gasket, accessory drive belt, and assorted cooling, steering, suspension, and brake components. Specified in Arctic Silver Metallic over Anthracite M-Cross cloth and Amaretta upholstery, the car is powered by a 3.2-liter inline-six linked with a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a sunroof, fog lights, 17″ Style 39 wheels, cruise control, and dual-zone climate control. This E36 M3 coupe has 131k miles and is now offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, service records, spare parts, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic (309) with black pinstriping and features fog lights, a sunroof, dual exhaust outlets, and factory aerodynamic bumpers, side sills, and mirrors. Close-up photos of paint chips and exterior blemishes are shown in the gallery below, and a spot of corrosion near the trunk latch is noted.

Staggered-width 17″ Style 39 wheels are mounted with staggered-width Riken Raptor tires. The car is equipped with a sport-tuned suspension and four-wheel ventilated disc brakes. Rear trailing arm bushing reinforcement spacers were installed and an alignment was performed in May 2023, and work in August 2025 consisted of replacing the brake light switch and right-front ABS wheel speed sensor, along with repairing sections of the ABS wiring harness. The seller tells us that additional work under current ownership consisted of installing front strut tower and rear shock tower reinforcement plates and Hawk brake pads, along with replacing the brake rotors, rear shock mounts, steering shaft flex joint, and tie rod ends. Curb scuffs are visible on three of the wheels.

The cabin features manually adjustable Vader sport seats upholstered in Anthracite M-Cross cloth and Amaretta with matching door panels. A Continental Bluetooth stereo head unit and a ZHP shift knob have been added, and additional appointments include cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an onboard computer. An area of the lower driver’s seat bolster is worn through, areas of the door panel insert fabric are loose, and the headliner is sagging and pulling away near the sunroof and right window.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel economy, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 131k miles, approximately 6k of which were added under current ownership.

The 3.2-liter S52 inline-six was factory rated at 240 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. Work performed in 2022 consisted of replacing the accessory drive belt, belt tensioner and idler pulleys, fan clutch, vacuum hoses, and auxiliary fan switch connector. A replacement battery was installed in 2024, and the seller notes that additional work under current ownership included the installation of a Mishimoto coolant expansion tank, ECS silicone radiator hoses, an 88° thermostat, an aluminum thermostat housing, and replacing the valve cover gasket. The oil was most recently changed in April 2026. An area of the under-hood insulation pad is worn.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional photos of the underside condition are viewable in the gallery.

Manufacturer’s literature, two keys, a remote fob, partial service records, and spare parts are included in the sale.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other reported damage.
The car failed a California smog test in March 2024, and it most recently passed a California emissions inspection in March 2026.
