This 1997 Mercedes-Benz SL600 was initially delivered to Brumos Motor Cars in Jacksonville, Florida, and now shows 77k miles following the current owner’s purchase on BaT in November 2023. Work under current ownership included the installation of a rebuilt five-speed automatic transmission as well as a replacement steering damper, rear brake components, tires, crankshaft position sensors, and driveline mounts. Finished in black over two-tone gray Exclusive leather upholstery, the car is powered by a 6.0-liter V12 and equipped with the SL1 Sport Package, a removable hardtop, a black soft top, 18″ AMG Monoblock wheels, xenon headlights, fog lights, heated power-adjustable seats, a cassette stereo, a Bose sound system, a remote six-disc CD changer, and automatic climate control. This R129 is now offered on dealer consignment with service records, manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.

The car is finished in black and features a matching removable hardtop as well as a black soft top. Additional exterior details include xenon headlights, fog lights, fender air vents, and the SL1 Sport Package, which added revised bumper covers and aerodynamic side skirts. The soft-top hydraulic cylinders were reportedly replaced, and the front bumper cover was refinished in September 2023. The selling dealer tells us that the soft top mechanism functions, but evidence of leakage is noted from some of the top hydraulic cylinders. Discoloration is shown on the rear soft top window in the gallery of the previous listing. Additional imperfections including a ding above the right front wheel arch and flaws on the hood emblem are shown in the photo gallery below.

The 18″ AMG Monoblock wheels are mounted with staggered-width Notti NT555 G2 tires that were installed in June 2025. Standard equipment included Automatic Slip Control (ASR) and an Adaptive Damping System (ADS) with all-wheel automatic level control. A replacement steering damper was installed in 2024, and the rear brake pads, rotors, and wear sensors were replaced in 2026.

The cabin features heated power-adjustable seats upholstered in two-tone gray Exclusive leather along with burl wood accents on the doors and center stack. Amenities include a deployable roll bar, seat position memory, a cassette stereo, a Bose sound system, a remote six-disc CD changer, a heated rear hardtop window, cruise control, and automatic climate control.

The leather and wood-trimmed steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel economy, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 76k miles, approximately 1,500 of which were added under current ownership. Close-up photos of the instrument cluster surround condition are shown in the gallery.

The 6.0-liter M120 V12 was factory rated at 389 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. A replacement water pump, serpentine belt, radiator hoses, and intake manifold gaskets were replaced under previous ownership in 2023. Work performed under current ownership included recharging the air conditioning system and replacing the crankshaft position sensors and engine mounts. The car most recently passed a California emissions inspection in March 2024, and the oil was changed in May 2026.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rebuilt five-speed automatic transmission that was installed in April 2025, along with a replacement shifter cable. The factory center resonator was deleted, and an aftermarket rear resonator was installed under previous ownership. Replacement transmission mounts were installed in preparation for the sale.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other reported damage.
The car is registered as Planned Non-Operation in the state of California.
