1931 Buick Series 90 Model 96 Coupe

This 1931 Buick Series 90 is a model 96 coupe that underwent a refurbishment under previous ownership, and it was purchased by the current owner in 2026. The car is finished in maroon with white fenders and bodyside accents, and power comes from a 344.8ci straight-eight mated to a three-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a Holley downdraft carburetor, an electric fuel pump, 19″ wire wheels, dual side-mount spares, cowl lamps, a fold-down luggage rack, front bucket seats, woodgrain dash and window trim, and rear window shades. Service performed in 2026 reportedly included draining the fuel tank and installing a replacement six-volt battery. This Buick 8–96 is now offered on dealer consignment in Canada with New Brunswick registration.

A total of 7,705 Fisher-built Series 90 coupes were produced for the 1931 model year. This example was repainted in maroon with white fenders and bodyside accents under previous ownership. Details include dual-blade chrome bumpers, a Buick-branded headlight bar, a radiator mascot, cowl lamps, a steel sun visor, dual side-view mirrors, running boards with Buick-branded step plates, a single taillight, and a fold-down luggage rack. There is rust on the leading edge of the roof, and other imperfections in the finish can be seen in the gallery below.

Maroon-painted wire wheels wear bright hubcaps, and they are mounted with 6.00/6.50–19″ BFGoodrich Silvertown whitewall bias-ply tires. Matching spare wheels with older tires are mounted in the front fenders. Series 90 models rode on a 132″ wheelbase and featured semi-elliptical leaf springs at all four corners. Braking is handled by four-wheel drum brakes.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in gray tufted cloth along with a color-coordinated headliner and door panels. Dark gray carpets line the floors, and additional details include woodgrain dash and window trim, door storage pockets, a front Buick-branded rubber floor mat, and rear window shades. Stains on the headliner can be seen in the gallery.

The four-spoke steering wheel is missing its hub bezel, and it fronts a steel dashboard and a painted woodgrain instrument panel housing a 90-mph barrel-type speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 91k miles, approximately 50 of which were added under current ownership.

The overhead-valve 344.8ci straight-eight features five main bearings and was factory rated at 104 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. It is said to have been rebuilt in 2020, and the intake manifold is mounted upside down and topped by a Holley downdraft carburetor. A replacement six-volt battery was installed under current ownership.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted three-speed manual transmission. The fuel tank was cleaned under current ownership, and a Carter electric fuel pump is fitted.

The car is being offered on its New Brunswick registration, which serves as the ownership document in New Brunswick, Canada.
