1968 Triumph TR250

This 1968 Triumph TR250 is said to have been first registered in Southern California, remaining there for over 30 years before being relocated to Canada and then purchased by its current owner in 2021. Subsequent work reportedly involved refurbishing the tan interior, repairing and refinishing the frame, and fitting a rebuilt replacement four-speed manual transmission with overdrive as well as replacing the windshield, tires, radiator, clutch, exhaust system, and more. Refinished in green, the car is powered by a 2.5-liter inline-six and is further equipped with a black convertible top, a rear luggage rack, 15″ American Racing alloy wheels, front disc brakes, a wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel, a wood shift knob, seatbelts, a digital radio, and a heater. Showing 77k miles, this TR250 is offered in Canada by the seller on behalf of its owner with parts and service records, spare parts, and British Columbia registration.

Factory-finished in Royal Blue (56), the car was refinished in green prior to 2021 and features over-the-front stripes, a black convertible top and boot, TR250 badging, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome-finished bumpers with overriders. Per the seller, the windshield, rear bumper, and door locks and handles were replaced under current ownership, the rear luggage rack was added, and the license-plate lighting was rebuilt. Some tears in the soft top are noted, and photos provided in the gallery below show blemishes and spots of oxidation.

Polished-aluminum 15″ American Racing wheels are mounted with 185/65 Michelin Defender T+H tires produced in 2021. An independent suspension was specified from the factory, and braking is provided by front discs and rear drums that were serviced recently, according to the seller.

The interior was reportedly stripped under current ownership before being refinished and fitted with sound-damping material and replacement carpeting. The high-back bucket seats, from a 1969 TR6, were reupholstered in tan leather with added heating elements, and the dashboard, heater, and door assemblies are also said to have been refurbished. Other appointments include added interior lighting and power outlets, a center console, lap belts, a wood shift knob, lockable glovebox storage, a vintage-styled digital radio, and aftermarket speakers.

Refurbished Smiths instrumentation ahead of the wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel consists of a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer, while gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are housed in the center of the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 77k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership.

The 2.5-liter inline-six was factory equipped with two Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and is believed to have been fitted with an aftermarket camshaft. Reported work since 2021 has included rebuilding the fuel-level sender, replacing the cooling fan, and fitting a shrouded high-flow radiator.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a rebuilt replacement four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The 2022 installation also included replacing the reverse switch, and a replacement clutch and upgraded axles are said to have been fitted under current ownership. The floor pans have been replaced, the frame was repainted after a front-suspension mount was repaired, and a Bell stainless-steel exhaust system has been fitted.
