1959 MG MGA Twin Cam Roadster

This 1959 MG MGA Twin Cam roadster underwent refurbishment work in the 1980s before being acquired by the seller in 2023. The car is powered by a 1,588cc twin-cam inline-four linked to a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in Glacier Blue with a black soft top over gray leather upholstery. It rides on 15″ center-lock Dunlop wheels coupled with disc brakes at all four corners and is further equipped with a banjo-style steering wheel, Jaeger instrumentation, and a Smiths heater. This MGA Twin Cam is now offered in Mooresville, North Carolina, with a clean Wisconsin title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Glacier Blue and accompanied by an older black soft top that the seller notes should be replaced. Further details include a body-contour grille, a driver-side mirror, and bumpers with overriders. There is a dent on the right quarter panel.

The 15″ center-lock Dunlop wheels are mounted with 165/80 Nexen tires. The car is equipped with an independent front suspension with coil springs and hydraulic dampers as well as a rack-and-pinion steering system. Stopping power is provided by front and rear disc brakes.

The bucket seats are upholstered in gray leather and are accented by a color-coordinated cabin surround, dash, and door panels. Black carpets line the floors, and further interior appointments include a Smiths heater and MG-branded rubber floor mats as well as a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror and door map pockets.

A four-spoke banjo-style steering wheel is mounted to an adjustable column and fronts Jaeger instrumentation including a 100-mph speedometer, a 7,500-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 56 miles and is believed to have rolled over. Total mileage is unknown.

The 1,588cc B-series inline-four features chain-driven double overhead camshafts, alloy cylinder heads, aluminum valve covers, and dual SU semi-downdraft carburetors. The engine was factory rated at 108 horsepower.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Rust is visible on various underside components.
