1998 Ferrari 550 Maranello

This 1998 Ferrari 550 Maranello was registered in Utah and California prior to being purchased by the seller on BaT in January 2024, and it now shows 58k miles. Finished in Rosso Corsa over Beige Tradizione leather upholstery, the car is powered by a 5.5-liter F133A V12 linked to a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. It is equipped with a Borla exhaust system, 18″ five-spoke alloy wheels, Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, power-adjustable seats, a gated shifter, a cassette stereo, drilled aluminum pedals, and automatic climate control. Work under current ownership has included interior repairs, resolving oil leaks, and replacing the front crankshaft seal, air-conditioning compressor, ignition wires, accessory belts, window and exhaust components, and more. This 550 Maranello is offered with service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean New Hampshire title in the seller’s name.

The Pininfarina-designed bodywork is finished in Rosso Corsa (322), and the car is equipped with projector-style fog lights, a crosshatch grille, a central hood scoop, Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, heated power-operated side mirrors, and quad exhaust outlets. The front bumper cover was refinished in 2016, reportedly to correct chipped paint, and clear paint-protection film was subsequently applied to the nose.

Silver-finished 18″ five-spoke alloy wheels are secured over spacers and mounted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Braking is handled by red-finished Ferrari-branded calipers over cross-drilled and ventilated rotors.

The power-adjustable seats are upholstered in Beige Tradizione leather, and additional appointments include a gated shifter, automatic climate control, power windows, a cassette stereo, and rear luggage straps. Sticky interior buttons are said to have been addressed, and interior work in 2024 involved refinishing the driver-seat upholstery, repairing and refinishing rear panels, and replacing the air-conditioning compressor, left-side inner mirror-housing trim, and the right-side window motor and regulator.

The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel frames Jaeger instrumentation comprising a 220-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and oil pressure, while an analog clock and gauges for oil temperature and fuel level are housed in the center of the dashboard. The six-digit odometer shows 58k miles, approximately 400 of which were added under current ownership.

The 5.5-liter quad-cam F133A V12 features 48 valves, dry-sump lubrication, and Bosch Motronic engine management for a factory-rated output of 478 horsepower and 419 lb-ft of torque. A timing-belt service was completed in 2021, when the valve-cover gaskets, intake gaskets, spark plugs, and the camshaft seals and tensioners were also replaced. The valve covers were repainted at that time. Service in 2024 included changing the oil, addressing oil leaks, and installing a battery-charger lead as well as replacing the front crankshaft seal, ignition-wire set, accessory belts, exhaust thermocouples, and catalyst temperature-control modules.

Power is routed to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. A Borla cat-back exhaust system has been installed.

The Carfax report is free of accident or damage entries.
