1994 Toyota Land Cruiser VX Limited FZJ80

This 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser is a Japanese-market example that was brought to the US under previous ownership and was acquired by its current owner in 2020. Power comes from a 4.5-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case, and the truck rides on a Dobinsons suspension lift as well as 16″ Stealth Custom Series wheels wrapped in Nitto tires. It is finished in dark green and is equipped with a Prinsu roof rack, an Ironman 4×4 air intake snorkel, an ARB front bumper and onboard air compressor, a Smittybilt winch, and a Manta Performance exhaust system. Inside, the front bucket seats are trimmed in two-tone gray cloth and complemented by front and rear climate controls, a center-console cooler box, a DFG Offroad overland drawer system, a Pioneer head unit, and a custom audio system. This FZJ80 is now offered by the seller on behalf of its current owner with a Florida title in the current owner’s name.

The truck was finished from the factory in Dark Emerald Pearl and was repainted in its current shade of green under previous ownership while in Japan. Modifications include a Prinsu roof rack, a rear step ladder, an Ironman 4×4 air intake snorkel, an ARB front bumper, a Smittybilt winch, a front wind deflector, window tint film, Nilight LED off-road lights, and Ironman 4×4 recovery brackets. The window trim is said to have been replaced, and failing clearcoat is noted on various panels.

Matte Gunmetal-finished 16″ Stealth Custom Series wheels are wrapped in 315/75 Nitto Ridge Grappler tires, and a matching spare is affixed to the General Green Manufacturing swing-away rear carrier. The seller tells us that the brake master cylinder and front calipers have been replaced, and the system is equipped with Slee Offroad steel brake lines, EBC Green Stuff pads, and Brembo rotors.

The truck rides on a lifted suspension featuring Dobinsons long-travel springs, IMS shocks, adjustable front and rear panhard bars, and sway bar drop brackets, along with Ironman 4×4 radius arm drop brackets and Perry Parts bump stops. An Old Man Emu steering stabilizer has been fitted in addition to a Marlin Crawler drag link and tie rod links. The tie rod ends, sway bar links, and bushings have been replaced.

The right-hand-drive cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in two-tone gray cloth upholstery. A compass and altimeter are mounted in the overhead console, and appointments include front and rear air conditioning, a US-market cruise control system, a Viper alarm, a center-console cooler box, 3D-printed cup holders, front and rear dash cameras, a backup camera, Kicker door speakers, a Kenwood amplifier, and a touchscreen Pioneer head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity. There is a crack in the dash, and stains are evident in the carpets.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 180-kph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. A Koso digital coolant temperature readout is stationed to the left of the steering column, and PIAA horns have been installed. The oil pressure readout does not work. The six-digit odometer shows 292k kilometers (~181k miles), approximately 68k miles of which have been added under current ownership.

The cargo compartment houses a DFG Offroad overland drawer system and a Kicker subwoofer.

The 4.5L 1FZ-FE inline-six was factory rated at 212 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. An ARB air compressor, a CSF three-row radiator, a blue-hub clutch fan, and an Optima Red Top battery with billet aluminum terminals have been fitted, and the following components are said to have been replaced:

  • Front crankshaft seal
  • Rear main seal
  • Oil pan & pump cover gaskets
  • Oil pressure sending unit & housing
  • Idler pulleys & drive belts
  • Starter
  • Valve cover gasket
  • Spark plugs, seals, & ignition wires
  • Distributor cap, rotor, & gasket
  • Fuel pump, filter, & charcoal canister
  • Coolant overflow & washer fluid reservoirs
  • Power steering pump & low-pressure hose
  • Throttle cable
  • Water pump, 170° thermostat, & coolant hoses
  • Oxygen sensors

Power is routed to all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case that was overhauled in January 2025 using a Sumo Gear “Underdrive” gear set. The Manta Performance exhaust system features a heat-wrapped header, and ARB transmission, transfer case, and differential breathers have been fitted. Additional service under current ownership is noted to have involved rebuilding the front axle hubs, installing Aisin transmission shift solenoids, and replacing the transmission pan gasket, filter, and input shaft seal.

The Florida title carries an “Other Jurisdiction Brands VA-Gray Market” notation.
