“Let the showdown begin…” IFC Films has revealed the first official trailer for a wacky new crime comedy titled Best Pancakes in the County, made by the producer / filmmaker Ken Sanzel. This looks like some direct-to-bargain-bin junk that is only being given a chance because it stars Nicolas Cage – who is wearing a ridiculous nose prosthetic in here. But why? Is that how this guy really looks or are they just playing up the wackiness? “How many more crooked feds could there possibly be…?” After a botched FBI heist, a cunning criminal returns to a remote diner (supposedly with the best pancakes in the county?) where rival assassins, corrupt agents and an underestimated waitress collide in a deadly confrontation. Starring Nicolas Cage, Justin Long, Shelley Hennig, Lauren German, Ravi Patel, Tetiana Dar, Brandon Mychal Smith, Kelly Greyson. IFC says: “This action-packed, fast-paced adventure with wit & intensity is set to captivate audiences worldwide.” Uh huh, sure. Doesn’t look like this will capture anyone’s attention.
