This 1955 DeSoto Fireflite is one of 775 convertible examples produced and was refurbished in the early 2000s with a repaint in white and red along with freshened chrome. A power-operated black soft top is joined by white and red upholstery, and a 291ci Hemi V8 is linked with a two-speed PowerFlite automatic transmission with a dash-mounted shifter. Equipment includes 15″ steel wheels with full covers, power steering, power brakes, and a factory AM radio. This Fireflite is now offered at no reserve by the selling dealer in Michigan with an Indiana title.

The car was refurbished in the early 2000s with two-tone white and red paint along with refinished chrome. Exterior details include a power-operated black convertible top, a driver-side mirror, and front vent windows. Per the selling dealer, the power top was repaired in preparation for the sale, and the finish received wet-sanding, a polish, and a ceramic coating, while the trim and chrome elements were also polished. Touched-up paint chips are visible along with pitting on the taillight chrome and fender emblems.

The 15″ steel wheels feature bright covers and are mounted with wide-whitewall tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is provided by power-assisted four-wheel drums. There is corrosion on the wheels, and the selling dealer states the power brake booster and power steering pump were replaced in preparation for the sale.

The front and rear bench seats are trimmed in red and white with black piping. The factory AM radio bears civil defense markings and was recently repaired along with the horn, per the selling dealer.

The refinished two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a 120-mph speedometer, an ammeter, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 120 miles, and total mileage is unknown.

The 291ci Hemi V8 was factory-equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and was rated at 200 horsepower when new.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a PowerFlite two-speed automatic transmission managed by a dash-mounted shift lever.
The Indiana title has an odometer status of “Exempt.”
