Could this week use a tiny dose of cat wholesomeness?

There’s not a day when I’m not excited to write this story and share it with you all. I love looking on the internet for pictures of cats and trying to find in their eyes the peace that I’ve been seeking. Because, at least for me, animals are just that: peace and warmth that I need the most. Unfortunately, I’m not a pet owner at the moment, since my landlord doesn’t allow it. So, the only thing that I can do to feel at ease again is look for images of animals on the internet and find that balance again within myself.

Now, I’ve said this before: I’m new to the cat world. I’ve always had dogs and felt anxious when I was around cats. I didn’t understand them, and they didn’t get me, so it was a back-and-forth of weirdness and anxiety. Anyways, it all changed when my grandmother asked me to look after her pet, Cuddle, because she was going on a trip. I moved in and spent a whole month with the little kitty beside me. As you can imagine, at first, it was uncomfortable for both of us: I was a stranger in her home, and I didn’t know what to do when I saw her.

With time, things started to change, and I started to get closer and to find a connection. And the rest is history… I will never forget how cozy she would get at night, and we would both sleep together every night. Even when my grandmother got back, I went every weekend to visit Cuddle and to be with her for a bit. A few years later, Cuddle passed away, and I still try to remember that wonderful month and how much my perspective on cats changed because of her.
