Lazy brother refuses to clean up his mess around the house, sister teaches him a lesson by putting all of his mess in his own room: ‘He went ballistic’

Some people say that “boys will be boys,” but I say they need to be taught a lesson every now and then.

When you live alone, you have the prerogative of doing whatever you want with your things and leaving them all scattered around if you want. But when you live with other people, whether that is your family or a roommate, you have to make an effort for the house to be comfortable for everyone. Some people don’t understand that, and they quickly become a nightmare to live with. That’s when, sadly, it’s up to us to teach them to be respectful human beings, like it happen with this pair of siblings.

The brother has a habit of never cleaning up after himself in common areas, A.K.A. the living room and kitchen. He knows his mom is going to clean up everything. The only place he keeps tidy and clean is his own bedroom. His sister finally got enough of his entitlement. He cleaned up the kitchen for her whole family, but not his stuff. No, no, she grabbed everything he had left lying around and threw it into his bedroom. Of course, he got angry at her, and even the mom told her that doing that wasn’t right.

The thing here is, the sister is right and completely justified in doing that. The mother doesn’t realize she’s raising a man-child who will never be responsible enough to take care of himself. She’s turning him into a perfectly useless guy. Good luck to him finding a future partner who’s willing to tolerate his entitlement and lack of responsibility. Spoiler alert: he won’t. We already live in a world where every adult needs to be able to take care of themselves, and basic hygiene and knowing how to clean up the house are basic requirements.

What would you have done in the sister’s place? And if you were his mother, would you defend him or make him help with tidying the whole house?
